The Datil pepper is a very sweet fruity elongated habanero type. They are very popular in St. Augustine area of Florida. While the origin of the pepper is unclear it is thought to have come from the Minorcan people of Spain. As it is used in many of their recipes. This could be the tastiest habanero type pepper ever grown. The pods ripen from green to golden orange yellow. The Datil chile plants can grow 5-6 feet tall. They are used in sauces and also jellies.

Use this for sauces, salsa and pepper jelly.
