Our chickens are pasture-raised and fed only Organic feeds, Fruits, Vegetables, and of course anything they can naturally forage for. Please select the number of whole chickens you would like and add the items to your cart. Whole stew hens range from 4 to 6.5 lbs. We sometimes have frozen hens in stock, if not we will notify of our next processing date and schedule you a pick-up time.
These are the male co-parts to our amazing egg-laying hens (usually in the same pen). Because these birds do not always have the same meat characteristics as those pure-breeds and hybrid crosses, we pass them along at a discount. Generally recommended as soup birds, or we often pressure cook them for the best chicken and dumplings ever, though they do have similar whole leg cuts to the Bresse.
