Description
Dark, deep crimson, nearly black apple variety. Firm and crisp apples are perfect for baking and apple butter. Juices well, adding complex flavors to homemade cider. It is a long keeper with flavor improving in storage. Cold-hardy. Has some resistance to scab and fire blight; very resistant to rust. Ripens in October. Is suspected to be a seedling of Winesap.
