Description
Very hardy, of Latvian origin, before 1870. Earliest apple to ripen. Excellent sauce apple. Fragrant and tender, but the window for fresh eating is small. Not a good keeper. Yellow Transparent Apple has excellent disease resistance. Named for the pale-yellow skin of the fruit that matches the flesh.
